President's Message

Hello Fellow Rotarians,

At our meeting last Tuesday, our guest speaker was Toni Momberger, Editor of Follow Our Courts, an online publication covering Inland Empire legal news. Toni and her team track and report on legal issues across the Inland Empire to keep the public informed about the justice system and important cases in the region. Moreover, recognizing the difficulties faced by voters in selecting the right person to vote for in judicial contests, Toni recently published an Editor’s column in time for the March primary election entitled “How to decide which judge to vote for, and other judicial-process FAQs.”  Follow Our Courts is funded by the McCune Law Group, a law firm headquartered in Ontario. Anyone may subscribe to this electronic publication free of charge. Simply visit https://followourcourts.com/ and click the Subscribe button to get started. Thank you Darcy McNaboe for arranging Toni’s appearance at our club meeting last week.

Multi-Club Meeting This Week

Assistant Governor and San Bernardino Rotarian Bill Orr has arranged a special treat for us this week!  Our meeting will be held as usual on Tuesday at noon at the Elks Lodge, but this week we will also be joined for lunch and fellowship by members of the other four local clubs in San Bernardino and Highland.  Our special guest speaker will be Past District Governor and current District Trainer Marilyn Sanderson, who will provide a presentation on “Rotary: Where We Belong.”  Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this week’s meeting due to a work obligation, but as a Past President, Bill Orr has graciously agreed to handle the gavel and run this week’s meeting in my absence. Thank you Bill for always being at the ready to make Rotary a meaningful and enjoyable experience for us all!

District Club Leader & Member Assembly - April 6th

The annual District 5330 Leader and Member Assembly is scheduled for Saturday, April 6 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Tahquiz High School in Hemet. This is a great opportunity to learn about Rotary International, the Rotary Foundation, District-level activities, and club-level roles. Attendees can choose their own training sessions based on what interests them most. Topics include club roles, fundraising, peace building, community service, public relations, grants, club administration, Paul Harris society, invigorating clubs, Rotaract, membership, grant writing, international service, and student programs. All members are encouraged to attend and board members should make every effort to attend to learn more about their important roles. Registration is $35 via DACdb and is reimbursable by the club. If you have any questions, please ask. I hope to see a great turnout by our club!
